Season 2 cast and a questionable return!

The eight-part miniseries is the modern-day version of the 1990 film, based on Scott Turow’s 1987 novel entitled ‘Presumed Innocent’ which starred the legendary Harrison Ford.

Jake Gyllenhaal (Rusty Sabich) starred as the Chicago chief deputy prosecutor, accused of the spine-chilling murder of his colleague and mistress, Renate Reinsve (Carolyn Polhemus). In due time we shall learn whether or not Jake Gyllenhaal will return as the series lead. However it has been confirmed he will continue forward as executive producer, alongside J.J. Abrams, Rachel Rusch Rich, Dustin Thomason, Matthew Tinker, David E. Kelley and Scott Turow. On the other hand, one thing’s for sure — two for certain, Peter Sarsgaard’s (Tommy Molto) return is questionable. Sarsgaard shared with Indiewire: “I’m not really that interested in sequels. I think I’ve only ever done one season of anything… I think I’m a one-season person.”

    Photo Cred: Apple TV+

Where Did Season 1 Leave Viewers?

Rusty Sabich’s life turns upside down once he receives the call that his colleague, Carolyn Polhemus has been found dead in her apartment. Immediately following the call, he shares the news with his wife Ruth Negga (Barbara Sabich) and then races to his deceased lover’s apartment. Bill Camp (District Attorney Raymond Horgan) assigned Rusty the Carolyn’s murder case which was later taken over by Peter Sarsgaard (Tommy Molto). Rusty did everything in his will power to stay off Tommy Molto (Peter Sarsgaard) and Nico Della Guardia (O-T Fagbenle) radar but ultimately ends up on trail for the homicide. In the midst of the trial tons was revealed but you’d have to go back in order to catch-up. So buckle-up for Season 2!
